Downtime IPv6 17.12.2011
To optimze our IPv6 routing it is necessary to shut it down this evening.
We apologize for any inconveniences.
Edit: It should work all again. But we shifted the addresses a bit so it could happen you get no IPv6 connectivity until you reboot your PC.
New Game-Server
Some time ago already we launched new game-server:

Warsow (internal game)
Battlefield 2 (also reachable from external computers !)
Battlefield 2142 (also reachable from external computers !)
Because our members should always be able to play on the public servers we arranged a "reserved slot system". You'll find a password at McBain webpage (http://mcbain.server.selfnet.de/) which can be used to get access to the Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 2142 Server even if all slots are in use.

IPv6 – Quota free
Due to the imminent IPv4 address shortage, we offer you to be one of the first to use the new technology IPv6. If you would like to participate, please come to our office so we can set up a IPv6 subnet for your room. To make this even more awesome, all IPv6 traffic will be quota free until further notice! How cool is that?!
Possible influences to the network at monday (17.4.)
At Monday we will repair the damage caused by the last electric interferences.
Because of the switch to our new hardware one or more short disconnects in the network (and even in the whole Allmandring 8a) can happen.
The disconnects will be as short as possible.
Network outage at Selfnet and WH-Netz
We are sorry to inform you that there was a unexpected network outage today from 1:30 till 10:30 a.m. Both Selfnet and WH-Netz were affected. As for now, we are unsure what the exact reason was but it appears the battery backup failed when a fuse blew.
There will be a short planned downtime soon, when we will switch back to the battery system.
UPDATE:
The downtime proved to be unnecessary and all important servers have redundant battery backups now.
